Housing Resource Services

Atkins 2(1)Since its inception in 1986, Nuestra Comunidad’s unique Housing Resource Services (HRS) housing search and placement program has successfully helped thousands of vulnerable Bostonians facing housing emergencies, including elderly people, people with disabilities facing eviction, and families who have been displaced as a result of fire, flood, or other disaster.  Nuestra  Comunidad’s Housing Resource Services Program provides housing counseling to low-income residents on a citywide basis regardless of age, source of income, CORI status, or housing status.  Our program offers special expertise, however, in working with elderly people age 60+, including homeless or at-risk elders, grandparents raising grandchildren.

Nuestra Comunidad’s Housing Resource Services staff work tirelessly and creatively to prevent the homelessness of elderly people, people with disabilities, tenants and homeowners displaced through foreclosure, and people at risk of homelessness following a catastrophe.
